Exodus: Spring/Summer ’11

We’re studying the book of Exodus in Real Food this year, and at first it might seem like a puzzling choice. After all, we’ve never seen plagues in Egypt, eaten manna in the wilderness or been tempted to worship an animal made out of melted down earrings. So what possible relevance does the book of Exodus have to us in Fairfield County in the 21st Century?

Exodus is a book all about what God is like – Moses (the author) keeps repeating the phrase ‘then you shall know that I am the Lord’. If we want to understand what God is like, then Exodus is a great place for us to be studying. It’s also used by the New Testament to parallel our Christian lives through Jesus Christ – so the implication is that if we want to understand what it’s like to be a Christian today, then there is loads we can learn from Exodus.

We’re having a great time studying Exodus, and hope you can join us!
